“We are not just stumbling around human beings. This is an experience we’re having; a human experience.”
Hi, I’m Jason and welcome to my Travel Blog. Traveling should be more than taking pretty pictures and having something to brag to your friends about. Traveling should also be a way to gain a better understanding of other cultures as well as your own and to gain a better understanding of the human experience. The Excursionist will provide you with simple lessons and tips gained from my experience traveling, whether it be to other countries, other states, or from one city to another!
I grew up in a small town in rural Pennsylvania. I spent the majority of my life under the security and predictability of small town life. I began my curiosity about the world at the age of 16 when my family hosted an exchange student from France. I became fascinated with French culture, learning about the world, and why people do the things they do. I’ve traveled to my mother’s home country of The Philippines in 2008, again in 2018, and to France for the first time that same year. I’ve both lived and visited throughout the United States both for work, romance, and a combination of both until finally taking my IT Degree, starting my career, and settling down in Sacramento, California with my Boyfriend.
Living and enjoying the quiet and settled adult life, I continue to set aside time to travel in my spare time and taking in more of what these experiences have to offer. Join me in my adventures and learn a few tips. Whether you are a full-time or part-time traveler, there’s always more to learn!
